Suzanne Aikins

MA Coun. Psych, Registered Psychotherapist (RP), OACCPP, EMDRIA

Currently a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, Suzanne has been working in this field for over 15 years. She started with a college degree in Child and Youth Work from George Brown College which ignited a great passion for curiosity in a shared experience to facilitate well being. She then completed a degree in Psychology from Laurentian University which lead to an appreciation of evidenced-based therapy and the power of well developed research. Following that, Suzanne received her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, allowing her to hone her skills and integrate her prior schooling into a therapeutic process. Finally, she earned a certificate in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR); this incredible therapy, together with all the other therapy tools in her repertoire, have made her a dynamic, successful and well respected therapist. Over the years she has developed a passion for working with people struggling with trauma. How trauma effects a person is very dynamic and unique — with her skill base and genuine desire for health and balance, she has truly found her calling in helping people recover from emotional trauma.
